Sunday 11/7/2021

The Gospel reading for this 32nd Sunday in Ordinary Time is from Mark 12:38-44. Jesus is making observations about the condition of the self-righteous scribes and those who are contributing money to the coffers. He notes that the scribes move about with an air of superiority and he questions their motives. Why do they act this way? Is that type of attitude pleasing to God? He then turns his attention to the poor widow who gives all she has and how that is most pleasing to God; she surrenders everything instead of only parting with a portion of her goods, like the wealthy have done. How do we translate these ideas to modern times? What can you do to make sure you go about your life in a way that’s pleasing to God? You can #livemysunday by ensuring your motives are pure and authentically giving of your time, talent, and treasure to those most in need.
