On this First Sunday of Advent and the start of the new Liturgical Year, the first purple candle is lit on the advent wreath. This purple candle represents HOPE and the hope we have that our Savior is coming. Here is a simple prayer of hope you can meditate over today, “O Lord, please help us to ready our minds and hearts as we await the birth of your Son. We ask that you would help us separate the quiet from all the noise that can surround us during this season and in that quietness show us your mercy and love. Amen.”
