In this week’s Gospel reading for the Second Sunday of Easter, John 20:19-31, Jesus has returned and appeared to his beloved disciples. He greets them with “Peace be with you” not only once, but twice. What a welcoming gesture after many of them seemed to have abandoned him in some way in his time of need, just a few days prior. Look at how he responds to being in their presence again. He stands there in their midst with arms wide open and nothing else but love; like the Father, always there for us no matter what we’ve done. Take a moment this week and acknowledge God’s love and well wishes for you. How has He shown you peace? How can you be ready to share that with others in your life who perhaps need that peace extended to them, even if on the surface that action seems impossible? We are called by God to do the same, “As the Father has sent me, so I send you.” Tell us how you will go out and spread peace this week. How will you #livemysunday?
