Sunday 4/18/2021

In this week’s Gospel reading for the Third Sunday of Easter, Luke 24:35-48, Jesus has returned to his followers, the ones previously traveling on the road to Emmaus who are now returning to Jerusalem.  Once again, they are in awe of his presence and appear to need some convincing. So, what does Jesus do? He desires to reveal himself to them fully, that it is he. He does this by showing them his wounds from the cross so that they may see and believe he is truly a present body. Jesus is not standing there before them as a ghost, but in “flesh and bones.” He understands that it will take them time to understand and digest this. Jesus is patient and loving in his approach, never demanding, the perfect image of our Father. We place our faith in a Father that loving and real. How do you revel in that realness? Take some time to reflect on how God reaches out and makes Himself known to you. Tell us how you will cherish that revelation when you #livemysunday
