The Gospel reading on this Third Sunday of Ordinary Time is from Luke 1:1-4, 4:14-21. Here, we encounter a Jesus newly returned to Nazareth, having just been in Galilee, and before that he was fasting in the desert for 40 days and nights resisting temptation. He comes now filled with the power of the Holy Spirit as he is asked to read in the synagogue on the Sabbath day in his hometown. The passage he reads is from Isaiah and through it we again take note of the presence of the Holy Spirit. The message this weekend is clear; the Holy Spirit plays a driving force in our lives. It is only when we choose to respond to its call that we will find our lives more fulfilled and at peace, all the while being guided by His will. By accepting the Holy Spirit, you will truly #livemysunday everyday of your life.
