The Gospel reading for the 29th Sunday in Ordinary Time comes from Mark 10:35-45. Jesus is having a moment with James, John and the other ten disciples, mostly centering on the political corruption of the government, but he attempts to bring the message closer to home. In this passage, on thing to take note of, is Jesus focusing on the type of community his disciples should emulate. Our discipleship today should be that like of Jesus’s. To serve. We can use Jesus’s life and ministry like a shining example. Everyday does not have to be perfect; strive to serve others over yourself and each attempt you make to #livemysunday will be pleasing to the Lord.
