This weekend is the Seventh Sunday in Ordinary Time, also known as the Seventh Sunday after Epiphany, and the Gospel reading is taken from Luke 6:27-38. Do yourself a favor and take a moment to look up this reading. It is so good. This passage is like the “golden rule” of bible passages. It clearly outlines the way Jesus wants us to live our lives. It holds a powerful message for how we should carry ourselves as human beings and as followers of Christ-even when the world and the cruelness in it wants to get the best of us. To follow Jesus is not just to merely think, “Well, he sounds like a nice guy.” No, to follow Jesus requires a sincere response to his call to action. There is so much truth in every verse today. If you can manage to let just one of these points prevail this week when you #livemysunday then you and the other party will be better for it. Leave someone with a smile on their face, particularly when they would least expect it. Do as Jesus did and love as he loved.
