For the Fifth Sunday in Ordinary Time, or the Fifth Sunday after Epiphany, the Gospel reading is taken from Luke 5:1-11. It’s the beautiful passage when Jesus tells Simon and the others that they will abandon their day job fishing for fish and become fisher of men going forward and thus, become Jesus’s first chosen disciples. The verse highlighted here gives reason to pause for reflection. Sometimes in life we find ourselves going where it’s difficult to go. We must encounter situations or circumstances that seem impossible, but knowing that God is leading you there, that Jesus Christ is with you in the midst of what seems unimaginable, can make all the difference. We can surprise ourselves with what we are capable of accomplishing. Is God leading you to tackle hard things and to #livemysunday in a way to do the unthinkable? With his mercy and grace, love and strength, you can.
