Sunday 3/27/2022

For this Fourth Sunday in Lent the Gospel reading is from Luke 15:1-3, 11-32. It is the parable of the Prodigal Son. So much can be said about this particular passage and in many ways it is way it is one of the more “famous” bible stories. For one, we can see ourselves easily in both sons. Sometimes in life we might feel like the younger son who wanders off, to do our own thing without a care in the world, make some mistakes, and have a realization that maybe it wasn’t so great to do that particular thing or set of things after all. And then we want to come home. Other times, we can certainly feel like the older brother in the story too. We can feel the pangs of jealously creep in over things both big and small and whether is warranted or not. It’s all part of the hum an experience and none of the actions or feelings are wrong. The most incredible part of the story, however, is that no matter who you are or what your background is, there is a Father waiting to welcome you home who loves you unconditionally. He is also happy that you returned to Him.  This week when you #livemysunday know that no matter what is going on in your life, whether is it chaotically crazy or has you coasting in neutral (or anywhere in between), God the Father is always there for you, waiting with open arms.
