In this week’s Gospel reading for the Fifth Sunday of Easter, John 15:1-8, Jesus is speaking to his disciples and in this teaching is describing the relationship between God, himself, and those that will follow him. In the first verse Jesus portrays God as the vinegrower with himself as the vine. Then he goes on to say how we are all the branches of the vine. In this vision we see how we all funnel back up to God. Indeed, with time spent invested in the branches, the vine bears fruit. Jesus does the same to us. Together we are interwoven and when we allow his will to work within us, we can flourish. If we keep ourselves close to Christ we will see the payoff. In your day-to-day life, think about how can imitate the vine of Christ and cultivate much fruit in your relationships with others when you #livemysunday
